About the Event
The Waverly Hills Civic Association will hold its annual meeting on June 5, 2024, at 7:00 pm, at Woodstock Park. At this meeting, we will elect our Executive Board.
Joining the Executive Board is a great opportunity to serve the community and become involved in neighborhood activities and events. In recent years, the Civic Association has advocated for stormwater-capacity improvements to address the repeated flooding in our neighborhood, has secured funding to make improvements to Woodstock Park and add sidewalks to neighborhood streets that lacked them, and has organized community events such as Halloween parades at the Park and Election Day bake sales.
Any member of the Civic Association can run for the Executive Board. Membership is just $10 per year or $50 for life, and you can join at https://www.waverlyhills.org/join.
Anyone is welcome to run for any position. We are actively seeking candidates for the following office: Alternate Delegate to the Arlington County Civic Federation. Further, anyone can declare their candidacy for a position at the June 5 meeting if the only candidates for the position (1) have served at least three consecutive terms in that position, (2) are running for two or more offices, or (3) declared their candidacy less than ten days before the election. Positions that fit into the first two of those categories are identified by asterisks below. The duties of each position are described on pages 3 to 5 of our bylaws, https://bit.ly/3nXi56Z.
If you think that you might be interested in serving on the Executive Board, please submit a message for Alex Luchenitser via the web-form at https://www.waverlyhills.org/contact. He would be happy to then tell you more about the available positions and what they involve. We hope to hear of your interest.
